Perfect for horse pastures
and other sensitive
natural areas.

Kellfri launches the VKMATV105E – the market’s first electric ATV flail mower.

The machine has been developed for efficient maintenance of pastures, horse paddocks, roadsides and green areas – without a petrol engine. The result is zero local emissions during operation, low noise levels and fewer service points, while retaining the capacity required for working with grass, weeds and lighter brush.

ATV flail mowers have long been an important tool for landowners who want to maintain larger areas without using a tractor. Until now, however, this product category has primarily relied on petrol engines. With the VKMATV105E, Kellfri takes an established product category to the next level: electric power with practical working capacity for everyday use on the farm.

– During development, we focused on retaining what customers expect from an ATV flail mower: reliable operation, efficient mowing and robust construction. The difference is that we can now offer all of this with electric power. The battery, electric motor and belt drive have been selected to provide consistent power transmission and practical operating time under real working conditions, says Markus Jaeger, Product Manager at Kellfri.

Less noise, less maintenance and easier everyday operation

The electric ATV flail mower is particularly well suited to environments where low noise levels and zero local emissions make a difference – for example, in horse paddocks, near animals, around farm buildings, close to residential areas and on sensitive natural or recreational areas.

As the machine operates without a petrol engine, there is no need for engine oil, spark plugs or a carburettor, and there are no exhaust fumes during operation. This means easier handling, fewer service points and a quieter working environment.

– We see that many customers want machines that are easier to own and more convenient to use in everyday work. This product meets a clear need among farms, equestrian facilities and landowners who want to reduce noise, maintenance and operating costs without sacrificing working capacity, says Caroline Karlström, Sales Manager at Kellfri.

Electric performance in a compact format

The VKMATV105E is powered by a Skyrich lithium battery rated at 51.2 V, 105 Ah and 5,376 Wh. The electric motor delivers up to 5 kW and drives the rotor via dual V-belts. Operating time is 2–3 hours depending on driving speed and vegetation.

The machine can be charged from a standard 230 V socket using the supplied 1.1 kW charger. A full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours. The battery pack has an IP55 rating for protection against dust and moisture, and battery data can be monitored via a Bluetooth app.

The cutting width is 1,050 mm and the cutting height can be adjusted between 45 and 90 mm. The machine is equipped with 16 hammer flails weighing 143 grams each, side shift and an adjustable drawbar for working along fences, roadsides and other areas where flexibility is required. For optimum performance, an ATV of 300 cc or above is recommended.

A natural next step for Kellfri

Kellfri has extensive experience in equipment for agriculture, forestry, grounds maintenance and smaller farms. The electric ATV flail mower is closely aligned with the company’s core idea: making functional, affordable products accessible to more people who work and run businesses in rural areas.

With the VKMATV105E, Kellfri combines proven functionality with new technology. The product is aimed at customers who want efficient land maintenance while reducing noise, maintenance requirements and local emissions in their daily work.

“During development, we focused on retaining what customers expect from an ATV flail mower: reliable operation, efficient mowing and robust construction. The difference is that we can now offer all of this with electric power.”
